ProSafeBeef hosted an International Conference at Teagasc Ashtown Food

Research Centre in Dublin, Ireland on the 25th and 26th of March 2009.

 

The key findings presented were in the area of strategic and targeted controls for microbial pathogens and chemical residues in beef.

  •  Acknowledged international experts presented papers on their latest research findings on beef safety alongside a poster session.

The focus of this conference was on:

  • Detection and tracking of microbial pathogens and chemical residues in the beef chain
  • Development and application of quantitative risk assessment models to mange microbial and chemical contaminants in the beef chain.
  • The development of novel and innovative approaches to control pathogens at key stages along the farm to fork beef chain
  • Consumer attitudes and perception of beef safety
     

This meeting is organised by Dr. Geraldine Duffy and Dr Martin Danaher, Ashtown Food Research Centre, Teagasc, Dublin, Ireland and Professor George J. Nychas, Agricultural University of Athens, Greece.
